Can you not see what we are doing to ourselves.
Our ever growing finical deficit is going to be the end of us. IF any of our debts were called in today we would have no way to pay them off. We need someone who can actually find a way to make a balanced budget that works for our Government while maintaining our military as one of the greatest in the World. Last couple of terms we have seen such drastic cuts in the United States Military that it is likely we will see results in wars to come. We have cut our man power, equipment, budget, and training requirements to make those not equipped mentally and or physically to maintain and contribute to the military life be accepted by lessening our standards.
Yet we have an NFL combine where we ask athletes to prove who the best is to get a spot on a roster. NFL a game on TV where men get paid millions to play a game. Yet our military gets just above minimum wage to defend our country. A young man can enlist on his own at 18 and make just above minimum wage. Is not allowed to drink, can smoke and fight to defend the Greatest Country (personal opinion) in the free world. If he went to college for 4 years he could be making 45k- 60k a year when he leaves college depending on the field. However in the military after 8 years he would be lucky to see a 40k year. If he goes to a state with 15$ an hour jobs and hustles and makes a name for him self he can make the same amount as a 4-year military veteran. There is something wrong with this.
Our founding fathers are probably turning over in their graves. What they set into motion when we left the queens rule in England is not what we are now. We have become a bunch of pacifying hypocritical political correct inept idiots. We don't need to save the world we need to save ourselves.
